Sao Paulo’s official Hitlerite newspaper, Der Deutsche Morgen,has removed the swastika which it formerly displayed on its masthead.
Your correspondent learns that this is a maneuver by the local Nazi leaders who hope thus to obtain advertising for the newspaper.The greater number of large establishments contracting for newspaper addvertising in the foreign language press had withdrawn their advertising from Der Deutsche Morgen because of the anti-Hitler boycott.
It is said that the newspaper was so affected by the loss of advertising that it was foreced to change hands The new management saw fit to remove the swastika.
