Von Otter, acting permanent representative of Sweden to the United Nations, deposited his Government’s ratification of the convention on the prevention and punishment of the crime of genocide with the U.N. Secretary-General in a ceremony here. Sweden is the 37th country to ratify the convention, which outlaws genocide–denial of the right of existance of racial. religious, ethnic or national groups–as a crime under international law.
