The Swiss Government is conducting an investigation of Arab League propaganda campaigns here against Israel, Britain and France, Rene-Keller, a government spokesman revealed today. Switzerland has a reputation for clamping down on foreigners who do not respect her neutral status.
Keller admitted under questioning that an investigation had been launched of a champagne party thrown by Arab diplomats for foreign newsmen with the exception of British, French and Israeli correspondents. The newsmen were shown films and given pamphlets which allegedly showed Israeli and Allied troops committing atrocities. Later friendly correspondents were approached with offers of free trips to Cairo.
