Dr. Hans Globke, Secretary of State in the office of former West German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer, was declared an “undesirable” person yesterday by the Parliament of the Swiss canton of Vaud. Dr. Globke resigned his office shortly before Chancellor Adenauer quit last month. His wife owns property in Vaud. The Vaud Parliament adopted a motion declaring that Dr. Globke “abstain from residing in the canton, either temporarily or permanently.”
Dr. Globke has been accused of anti-Jewish activities during World War II, having been the expert in the Nazi regime who had written the official commentary on the anti-Jewish Nuremberg Laws. He has consistently denied, however, that he aided the Nazi racist policies, and was supported in his denials by Dr. Adenauer.
