Switzerland will continue to receive refugee children from all European countries, but the problem of adults must be treated differently, the Bern radio announced today.
“Some of our deputies would like to be guided by their hearts, but high government officials believe that brakes must be put on our hearts in view of what may happen in the future,” the announcement said. The broadcast also suggested that thousands of Jews in France could be saved from deportation if admitted to certain British possessions or to the American-owned Virgin Islands.
