The Synagogue Council of America called upon all synagogues throughout the country to offer prayers for “a speedy victory of the principles of international right and justice for which our country is at war.” Its message to the congregations throughout the country said: “With an assured faith that banishes all panic or hysteria, the Council looks for the triumph, under God, of American ideals, a triumph that shall be hastened by a heightened sense of dedication and exalted purpose.”
