The Synagogue Council of America, combining Conservative, Orthodox and Reform groups, has announced support of President Roosevelt’s moves for peace through organization of religious forces. A statement hailed “the President’s recognition of the place of religion in preparing for peace that must come betimes if the moral values of our civilization are not to go down in ruins,” and thanked the President “for his efforts to bring together the great religions in joint dedication for strengthening the influences of religion and righteousness which alone can give hope of world recovery.”
