Syria is preparing to produce VX nerve gas, according to Israeli intelligence sources quoted in Jane’s Defense Weekly. Israel has long been concerned that Syria would arm its missiles capable of reaching Israel with the deadly nerve gas. Last week, U.N. weapons inspector Richard Butler said that traces of the gas had been found in Iraqi warheads.
