Syria is rushing work on diversion of the Dufeila, a tributary which provides water to irrigate farm lands of Kibbutz Shamir, Israeli officials said today.
They added that if the Syrians, who have assembled a large number of workers and considerable equipment for the diversion project, succeed in shutting off the flow, the settlement would have to get water from other sources and pump it to its fields and groves.
