Syria took journalists on a tour of the site Israel allegedly bombed last month, calling it an agricultural research center.
The New York Times reported the visit to the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands, a government agricultural research center in eastern Syria. Last week, an Israeli reporter for the daily Yediot Acharonot visited the site and reported that the center was the nuclear facility Israel bombed on Sept. 6.
The tour for journalists was part of the Syrian government’s attempts to dispel the notion that the country is seeking to acquire nuclear weapons, the report said.
