Syrian Ambassador Farid Zeineddine visited the State Department today to call attention to an allegedly forthcoming Israel “military action “to divert Jordan River water at Bnot Yaacov in the demilitarized zone. In a 90-minute talk with George V. Allen, Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, Mr. Zeineddine warned that Jordan diversion by Israel would alter the present military situation.
