A delegation of Jewish leaders today called upon President Shukhri Bey el Kuwatly and presented a memorandum protesting the discriminatory treatment of Syrian Jews.
The memorandum asserted that although Jews have been living in this country for thousands of years, and have been loyal citizens, they are treated as “aliens.”
The delegation brought to the attention of the President the recent jailing of three Jews, who were sentenced to six months imprisonment, because their wives emigrated to Palestine.
