Israeli officers, accompanied by United Nations observers, began an investigation today of a series of Syrian gunfire attacks on Israel tractor operators yesterday in the Tel Katzir settlement which had previously been one of the quietest sections of the Syrian border.
The Israeli officers reported, on the basis of initial findings, that the Syrians took up positions in Israeli territory from which they opened fire on a group of Israeli workers, none of whom suffered casualties. Normal field operations were resumed this morning in the area southeast of Lake Tiberias.
