Talks between the Palestinian Authority president and Hamas’ leader in exile failed to produce an agreement. Mahmoud Abbas, a relative moderate, met with Khaled Meshaal on Sunday in Damascus, where Meshaal is based, in order to discuss internecine Palestinian warfare and the formation of a national unity government.
