Discussions for a new Israel-Argentine trade pact have already started, it was learned here today, and the first sessions have been held in a cordial and cooperative atmosphere. The Argentine representatives have agreed that new licenses for imports from Israel will be issued immediately, and delegates of both states have agreed that the pact shall be a flexible arrangement based on exports and imports between the two nations balancing each other.
Meanwhile, Tuvia Arazi, counsellor of the Israel legation here, who has represented Israel in the talks, flew to Israel yesterday together with a group of 35 members of the Argentine-Israel Chamber of Commerce who will visit Israel as guests of the Jewish State to survey the possibilities for increasing trade between the countries. After the mission returns to Argentina the trade pact talks will be resumed.
Dr. Jeronimo Remorino, Foreign Minister of Argentina, today visited an exhibition here in commemoration of Dr. Theodor Herzl. He was given detailed explanations of the exhibit by Dr. Arie Kubovy, Israeli Minister, and Gregorio Verbisky, the Legation’s press officer.
