Forty teachers in five Tarbuth schools with a total of 1,000 children went on strike today demanding that part of the money raised in various countries for the Tarbuth schools be used to pay back salaries to them. The Tarbuth schools are the Hebrew educational school system of Poland.
Recently an appeal for funds to save the institutions was issued through the Jewish Telegraphic Agency. The appeal met with immediate response in Jewish conters throughout the world.
