Alexander Vayda Voyvod, Roumanian minister of the interior, today dismissed the police chief of Targu Fromos, Vassily Botez, because of his inactivity during the recent incidents. M. Gane, chief of the juridical bureau of Jassy, has also been deposed because of having ordered the photographing of the Jews who had been arrested in Targu Fromos.
The Jews in Targu Fromos, who had defended themselves against the attacks of Professor Cuza’s followers, were, after their arrest, compelled by the police to pose for photographs with sticks in their hands that had been forced upon them by the police.
