The German Jewish Children’s Aid, Inc., which was incorporated recently to arrange for the education and maintenance of a group of children between the ages of eleven and fourteen lacking educational opportunities in the Reich due to the “Aryan” clause, will establish offices Friday at 225 East Sixty-third street, it was announced yesterday.
The organization was created in response to the request of Jewish parents in Germany who desire their children to be educated in the United States. The corporation will arrange with selected families to care for these children and will guarantee to the United States Government, by posting a bond for each child, that they will not become public charges and that they will remain at school until they are sixteen years of age, when they will be returned to their native land.
Dr. Solomon Lowenstein is chairman of the corporation; Paul Felix Warburg, treasurer; Joseph C. Hy-man, secretary, and Miss Cecelia Razovsky, executive director.
The board of directors includes Judge Irving Lehman, Judge Joseph M. Proskauer, Max J. Kohler, Mrs. Maurice L. Goldman, Mrs. Stephen S. Wise, Dr. Jacob Billikopf of Philadelphia, Alfred M. Cohen of Cincinnati, Congressman Nathan D. Perlman, Louis Fabricant, Dr. Harry Lurie, Mrs. Gerson Levi of Chicago, Dr. Henry Moskowitz, Dr. Maurice J. Karpf and John L. Bernstein.
