Myron C. Taylor, American vice-chairman of the Intergovernmental Refugee Committee, arrived from Italy today and immediately conferred with committee members on the refugee situation. Mr. Taylor will leave on the Queen Mary Friday to present to President Roosevelt a detailed report on the general refugee situation.
Informed quarters here are placing little weight on Chungking reports that the Chinese Government is planning to establish a refugee colony. Official circles have not been informed of such intentions and are inclined to discount the reports in view of the general situation in China.
