A three foot long “mini-missile” constructed by third-year students at the Haifa Technion, was successfully fired today and soared to an altitude of almost four miles. The missile, which took 60 students working in their spare time a year to build, was powered by solid fuel. It was six inches in diameter, had a range of 1600 feet and a speed of 1600 feet per second. The missile came down in the sea.
