Israeli Ambassador Yosef Tekoah met with UN Secretary General Kurt Waldheim yesterday to discuss the plight of Jews in the Soviet Union and the Arab countries. Tekoah asked Waldheim to discuss the matter with the foreign ministers of the countries concerned while they are attending the UN General Assembly, according to the Israeli UN Mission. Tekoah told Waldheim that on the eve of the Jewish High Holy Days, the people of Israel were making a special effort to help these Jews.
