Laborite members of the Municipal Council protested at the last meeting of the body against attempts to decentralize the direction of schools of this city from others in Palestine. It was argued that the great majority of members of the parents’ and teachers’ associations in Tel Aviv were opposed to this decentralization, and therefore the Municipal Board of Education was not justified in pursuing such a policy.
The debate on the school question was tabled until the next meeting of the Council in spite of the motion of the municipality.
