Arabs in Hebron joined Moslems in Nablus, Tulkarem, Jenin, Safed and Beisan in declaring a general strike against Jewish immigration and sale of land to Jews, as agitation against the Jews continued today in many parts of the country.
It was definitely established that five Jews were killed in yesterday’s rioting on the Jaffa-Tel Aviv border. Funeral services were held for them today with Acting Mayor Israel Rokach participating and Rabbi Uziel and Isaac Gruenbaum of the Jewish Agency for Palestine.
The Great Synagogue here was filled to overflowing with refugees from districts where rioting had been carried on. A black-bordered flag flew at half-staff from the Jewish Agency building.
