The one hundredth anniversary of the birth of Leon Tolstoi will be celebrated in Tel Aviv on September 9.
Extensive arrangements were made by a specially created committee consisting of Hebrew writers and communal leaders. A concert will be held on Sunday evening.
A special publication in Hebrew and English to commemorate the event has been prepared and will contain articles on Tolstoi by well known Hebrew writers, including essays by Alexander Ziskind. Rabinovich. I. Ch. Ravnitzki. A letter written by Sophia Tolstoi in 1891, stating that a certain anti-Semitic article attributed to Tolsoi, was not written by him. will be included in the publication.
