Six thousand immigrant families will spend the winter in tents, it was learned today, despite frantic attempts to provide more adequate shelter for the cold season. Twenty-four thousand families who have been living in tents are being moved to wood and metal huts being rushed to completion throughout the country. The children of families which will remain in tents are being taken to children’s homes and institutions in villages and settlements.
