A great increase in the revenue of the Palestine post office department is reported. The bulk of the increase is due to the riots during which the telegraphic department of the post office obtained a great revenue from the Jewish Telegraphic Agency. Other news agencies, too, swelled the income. The number of telephones is also on the upgrade, primarily for purposes of security. It is estimated that the post office department’s earnings for 1929 are double what they were in 1928.
