Arthur Hays Sulzberger, president and publisher of the New York Times, last night received the “Man-of-the-Year” award of the Metropolitan Conference of the National Federation of Temple Brotherhoods.
“More than ever, “he told 300 leaders of 60 New York area temple brotherhoods at a dinner at the Hotel Delmonico, “I am convinced that our civic responsibilities can best be met if we carry into our daily lives and into our polling places some form of religious expression; if we practice in our day-by-day contacts that faith that we have learned in our houses of worship.”
