Anshe Russia Congregation will observe its fiftieth jubilee next week end, May 26 and 27. The life of the congregation is intertwined with the growth of the local Jewish community and many of the professional and business people of the community are the sons and grandsons of original members.
The spiritual leader of the congregation is Rabbi Joseph Konvitz, president of the Union of Orthodox Rabbis of the United States and Canada. Rabbi Hyman Brodsky, dean of orthodox rabbis in this state, is spiritual leader-emeritus. Philip Senzer is president of the congregation, Abraham Shapiro, cantor, and Henry Tepper heads the arrangements committee. The principal feature of the observance will be a banquet on May 27.
