Ten Israeli Arab legislators abstained from Tuesday’s vote confirming Prime Minister Ehud Barak’s new government. The lawmakers were protesting their exclusion from Barak’s Cabinet despite the massive support their constituency gave him in the May election. In addition to the abstentions, some of the lawmakers heckled Barak during his speech at the swearing-in ceremony.
