Ten American-built military ambulances will be en route to Palestine within the next few weeks as a result of intervention with American and British authorities by Congressman Emanuel Celler of New York, it was learned here today. The ambulances are destined for the Red Mogen David which aids British and American soldiers as well as Palestinian civilians.
The local office of the Red Mogen David announced that it has received a cable from Palestine informing it that import licenses for the vehicles have been granted by the British authorities there Zalmen J. Friedman executive director of the Red Mogen David here, expressed appreciation of the efforts of Mr. Celler and also of the cooperation extended by Washington officials concerned. Free shipping space for the ambulances is being furnished through the cooperation of the British War Relief and the Ministry of Transportation.
