Ten West German Judges and prosecutors have been retired, and five such officials have been given leaves of absence, after an investigation of their Nazi period activities, it was announced today.
Fritz Schaeffer, West German Minister of Justice, announced the action. He said the investigation was ordered after widespread charges were made that many judges who held judicial posts in the Hitler regime were holding high positions in the West German judiciary.
