Settler leaders at Sunday night’s rally in Jerusalem repeatedly denounced any use of violence, but also urged the prime minister to call for new elections. The rally came amid increasing concern of a civil war when Israeli security forces evacuate settlers as part of Sharon’s plan to withdraw from the Gaza Strip next year.
