Considerable tension exists in Drohobycz, East Galicia, where the clergy have incited the population in connection with the death of Nina Ruderfeld, the twenty-four year old grand-daughter of the Schodnitzer Rabbi, Israel Sauerstoff.
Miss Ruderfeld took her own life following a disappointing love affair with a Christian, it is alleged. While she lay unconscious in the hospital, she was converted to Christianity, despite the protest of her family and burial was announced for today in a Christian cemetery. Christian services are to be held with the participation of monks and nuns.
The rumor has been spread that the Jews plan to steal the corpse.
Another member of the San Francisco Jewish community has been honored with an appointment by Governor Rolph. He is Al Katschinski, well known in local business and civic life. The governor has appointed Katschinski state right of way agent.
