Tension Mounts in Jaffa As Violence Increases

Tension mounted today in the predominantly Arab port city of Jaffa, where the six-month reign of terror had its inception last April, as Arab violence increased in many parts of the Holy Land.

Jaffa police reserves were held in readiness to quell feared outbreaks

Two Jewish youths waiting for a bus near Kfar Saba, north of Tel Aviv, were fired on by Arabs speeding by in a taxi.

The Jewish colony of Meshek Haotzar, near Kfar Saba, again was the target of concentrated Arab shooting. An hour-long attack by an armed Arab band was staged the previous night.
