The resolution cited Israel’s role as champion of the democratic rights of man, and its national policy which has “fostered and encouraged the founding and growth of a strong, democratic trade union movement. ” It recommended the purchase of Israel bonds “because such investment is financially sound,” and “such investment expresses fraternal approval of the aims of members of the international free trade union movement.”
