The sum of $2,300 in cash contributions and pledges was raised by Jews of Dallas, Texas, in furtherance of the plan of Texas Jewry to establish in Palestine an agricultural colony bearing the name of their State, at a banquet held in that city, it was announced here yesterday by the Jewish National Fund.
Ludwig Lewisohn, novelist, was the guest of honor and principal speaker at the event. The drive is being conducted by the Jewish National Fund Council for Texas, of which Dr. Henry Raphael Gold, who presided over the banquet, is chairman.
Three thousand dollars was raised for the project at a mass meeting held recently in Houston, Texas.
