A backward and narrow-minded piece of legislation was taken off the statute books of Texas last week by the Legislature when it repealed the bill requiring applicants for teacher certificates to answer a questionnaire containing an inquiry about their religious affiliation.
Argument over the bill in the Senate revealed that numerous abuses had been taking place. Principally regarded, however, was the potential danger contained in it.
