The 300 American chapters of Hadassah are celebrating April as “Infant Welfare Month,” and will attempt to raise more than their assigned quotas in order to include German refugee children in their infant welfare service in Palestine.
“There is no more fundamental work in all Palestine than this service, which provides pre-natal, post-natal and child care,” said Mrs. Jacob Grossman, national chairman of the infant welfare committee. “Its accomplishments can be seen by the sharp decrease in infant mortality in the country.”
High Commissioner Wauchope of Palestine recently recommended a government grant to assist Hadassah in maintaining this work.
