The appointment of Mrs. Max Schenk as chairman of the 26th Anniversary Celebration of Israel’s Independence, in New York City, has been announced by Rabbi Israel Miller, president of the American Zionist Federation. Mrs. Schenk will host the anniversary festivity which will be held at Avery Fisher (Philharmonic) Hall on Wednesday evening, April 24. It will highlight the AZF’s commemoration of Israel’s 26th birthday. Mrs. Schenk is chairman of the AZF executive committee and the former national president of Hadassah.
