The Arkady Belinkov Memorial Book Collection in memory of the noted Soviet literary critic and writer has been dedicated at George Washington University. The collection will concentrate on the Jewish writer’s major intellectual and literary concerns that Included the suppressed writers of the Soviet Union from the time of the Soviet revolution and the dissident movements since the 1960s. Belinkov came to that university in 1968 as professor of Russian literature. Belinkov, a Soviet Jew, was persecuted in the Soviet Union both for his dissident views and his ethnic origin.
