The army has transferred Rabbi Meir Kahane from reserve duty on the West Bank to a post inside Israel after reports that he engaged in provocative acts, aggravating an already tense situation in that territory. Kahane, founder of the Jewish Defense League, heads the ultra-nationalist Kach movement which calls for the expulsion of all Arabs from Israel and the occupied territories.
