The authorities have forbidden publication of news of anti-Semitic developments in Germany or of worldwide reaction to them. The pro-German anti-Semitic newspaper Porunca Vremi was so heavily censored Friday night that it could not appear. The military authorities announced today that individuals will be severely punished for mere possession of propaganda material issued by the banned pro-Fascist Iron Guard.
A violent explosion today wrecked the interior of the Albajulia synagogue. It was the second such incident in the past week in Rumania. All objects inside the synagogue were completely destroyed and windows of neighboring buildings shattered. The synagogue itself was empty at the time of the explosion and no one was injured. Members of the congregation were in a nearby hall. A thorough investigation was opened immediately to determine whether the blast was accidental or caused by anti-Semitic extremists.
