The British Government has made it clear that despite its mounting oil surplus it has not changed its policy of refusing to sell North Sea oil to Israel. Hamish Gray, Deputy Energy Minister, told Parliament Tuesday that there was no special restriction aimed at Israel. However, Britain would sell oil only to fellow members of the European Economic Community, to members of the International Energy Agency and to other existing customers. This automatically excludes Israel.
