The Bush administration plans to delay action on its faith-based initiative in the wake of criticism from religious conservatives, the Washington Post reported Monday. The paper quoted Don Eberly, deputy director of the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, as saying that the proposal to provide federal funds to religious groups providing social services “may need to be corrected in some areas.”
