The chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations is bidding to purchase the New York Jets football team. Ronald Lauder, the philanthropist and president of the Jewish National Fund, is one of six multimillionaires reported to be interested in buying the team for a cost expected to top $500 million.
