The Conservative movement recently ordained its first Ethiopian-born rabbi. Rabbi Yafet Alemu, who lives in Jerusalem, will formally become a member of the group’s Rabbinical Assembly at the Conservative movement conference, which will be held Feb. 10-14 in Washington.
