The cost of living index rose by 9.2 percent in July, bringing the index increase during the first seven months of the year to 63.7 percent. At the present rate, the index is running at an inflationary rate of between 130 and 133 percent a year, compared to 100 percent last year. Economists said it was the highest July increase since the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948.
