The dedication exercises of the new Emanu-El Synagogue in this city were held yesterday in the presence of a large gathering.
State officials, Christian ducators and rabbis from all parts of New England participated in the ceremonies.
Lieut. Governor Norman S. Case of this state. William H. P. Faunce, president of Brown University, Mayor James E. Dunne of Providence and Rabbis Morton Goldberg, Samuel M. Gup. David G. Light and Morris Schussheim. were among the speakers. Philip C. Joslin, president of the congregation, president.
The synagogue, which was erected at a cost of $250,000 is located near Brown University.
