The Defense Department honored Steven Spielberg with the military’s highest civilian award for his World War II film “Saving Private Ryan.” Defense Secretary William Cohen gave the Medal for Distinguished Public Service to Spielberg at a ceremony in Washington. Spielberg said “Saving Private Ryan” and “Schindler’s List,” are his two films that have given him pride.
