The diamond jubilee celebration of the Congregation of Israel culminated last night after a three days’ program.
The bishop of Tennessee and representative non-Jews of Memphis were present. The address of welcome was delivered by Milton S. Binswanger, president of the congregation. Greeting from the churches of the city on the occasion of the diamond jubilee was brought to the congregation by Bishop Thomas F. Gailor.
Dr. Harry W. Ettelson, Rabbi of the congregation, addressed the gathering. The occasion also marked the fourth year since he was installed as temple rabbi.
